Have been working in and with Service Design and Sustainability for about 8 years. I first started exploring social innovation and design when doing m Masters thesis that looked at how design can enable community and grassroots models of sharing. I relocated to Melbourne to be the coordinator of Victorian Eco-Innovation Lab, here I led numerous projects and workshops that explored possible sustainable futures for Victoria. Working with many local councils, design companies, universities and government agencies to create scenarios, university-led design projects for students and professional designers. Believing that change will take place at the local level I returned to Sydney and am currently Program Manager at the Watershed (soon to be Green Living Centre) a partnership between Marrickville and Sydney City Councils that aims to inspire and enable local sustainable lifestyles within the Newtown area.
I have taught / mentored students in service design, distributed systems and urban sustainability at UTS, University of Melbourne, RMIT, Swinburne Universities.I am a founding member of the Service Design Network in Melbourne.
