I am a masters graduate of International Studies, with a focus on Peace and Conflict Resolution. I majored in Asia-Pacific studies during my undergradaute degree. I recently worked as a senior research analyst with a leading international studies think tank in Singapore, exploring the impact of 'non-traditional' security challenges on the Southeast Asian region and particularly its more vulnerable communities, using a human security framework. This experience has further strengthened my conviction in the important role that business can (must) play in addressing protracted social inequalities. I am currently working for a local community cooperative in Brisbane that has established several social enterprises in its aim of becoming a more sustainable force for community development. My aim is to become thoroughly involved in the emerging social enterprise and inclusive business sphere in Australia.

Community belonging and volunteering
Sydney
I am passionate about implementing a socially and environmentally friendly and sustainable not for profit community development, opportunity and employment generating enterprize for disadvantaged and inspired young people.
I volunteered in a Youth centre in Coffs Harbour for four years in the hope of collaborating with others to develop the idea, then attended TAFE and obtained CERT IV in COMMUNITY SERVICES, then one year of Mental health CERT IV, then YOUTH WORK CERT IV, and I am currently studying a BACHELOR of SOCIAL SCIENCE.
I have moved to Sydney in the hope that there are other likeminded individuals interested in contributing to the commencement of a community minded enterprise.
I found ASIX completely by chance and feel excited that it exists and there are others with such organisation ad inspiration.
I look forward to networking here and meeting positive, thoughtful and innovative people.
Thanks for creating this fantastic thing!
peace,
Jaben.
